September 2009 – VAT
rate reverts to 17.5%
The rate
of VAT changes back to 17.5% from 1st January 2010,
please make sure you are ready to implements this.

October
2009 - Electronic VAT return submission becomes mandatory
HM
Revenue and Customs plan to phase out paper VAT Returns
with effect from 1 April 2010, when it is expected that all VAT
registered businesses with an annual VAT exclusive turnover of
£100,000 or more, and all newly registering businesses, whatever
their turnover, will be required to submit their VAT Returns online
and make payments electronically.
